Sol Villarreal
Founder of The Civic Minute
Sol is Seattle’s most well-known policy-enthusiast-about-town. After working on mayoral campaigns, he launched his first successful political newsletter – Sol’s Civic Minute – and followed it with Last Week in Trump to bring us the “Best of Both Bubbles” in search of empathy on both sides of the aisle. As Seattle’s Connector in Chief, his most recent efforts have driven a team and event focused on reducing institutional sexual harassment in the workplace by providing information and resources targeted at men. His efforts gathered data about gender-based discrimination in Seattle tech companies and highlighted examples of what it's looked like for non-male folks to get effective allyship and support from male co-workers, managers, and HR departments.
Sol is also on the board of Seattle Public Theater. He received his BA from Rice University.
